The episode starts by showing the wreck from the gas truck plowing into the gas station. Then we move a little to the right to see Androids 19 and 20 and Yamcha there, 20 still has his hand through Yamcha's stomach, and Yamcha is starting to lose consciousness. He slowly lets go of 20's hand, and his arms finally dangle as though he had no energy left in him. Then 20 finally pulls his hand out of Yamcha's stomach, making blood drip all over the sidewalk.

Goku is running down a sidewalk, when he senses Yamcha's energy draining away. Tien and Krillin sense it too. Piccolo is already flying to the scene.

19 then senses everyone coming, and starts to look around. The first to land is Tien, who sees the incredible hole in his back that goes through his stomach. Krillin, Piccolo and Goku land next, all seeing Yamcha near death. Blood drips from Yamcha's feet from the wound. Krillin can't believe it, while Piccolo just looks on. 20 looks at Goku, who is very angry. He then throws Yamcha onto the street in front of them. Goku tells Krillin to leave and give Yamcha a Senzu Bean. He does, leaving Goku, Tien, Krillin and Piccolo to face off against the androids. Piccolo asks if these are the androids, and that they are pretty funny looking. 20 seems to be surprised that they know they are androids, and is even more surprised that they knew they were going to be on this island. He asks Piccolo how he knew, and Piccolo says to try and make him. Piccolo, Tien and Goku all get in a stance, with the fire raging behind them. Goku tells Tien and Piccolo that they need to lead the androids out of the city. 20 hears him, and agrees that there should be less people. He says that he will take care of it, and starts shooting Ki blasts from his eyes all over the city! As 20 turns and continues firing, Goku flies toward him and punches him in the cheek, stopping him, knocking his hat, and making him turn sideways. He turns back to look at Goku, who is mad as ever. Tien then turns around, to see that almost the entire city is engulfed in flames!

Yamcha is on his knees, healed after his shot through the stomach, looking at what just happened to the city. We get a look at it from on top of the cliff, which shows that nearly half the city has been destroyed. Yamcha says that he hopes Goku knows what to do.

A young child is in the middle of an inferno, crying for her mom. Her mom runs in and grabs her before she gets hit by a flaming rock in the air.

20 looks at Goku, still mad at him, calling him a monster for blowing up most of the city. 20 tells Goku that there are no more people in the way, and Goku yells at him to leave them out of this! 19 tells him that there are no people left to leave out. Goku is still mad, making 20 say that he will let him pick a place, and calls him Goku! This surprises everyone, and 20 tells them that he knows all of them, Piccolo and Tien! They both look at him surprised. Goku tells them that they can talk later, and to follow him. They all fly out of the city.

Yamcha, Gohan, Krillin, Yajirobe and Bulma see everyone leaving the city, and knows what Goku is doing. But Yamcha says that Goku has to know that the androids can drain his energy away through their hands!

At Master Roshi's house, Master Roshi and Oolong are enjoying a training program, while Chiaotzu hides behind the couch thinking about Tien. While they are watching the program, it is interrupted by the news of the island being blown up. Chiaotzu knows that's the island where Tien and the others went. They get worried, but Master Roshi assures them that Goku's there and he can handle anything. He then looks, thinking to himself, saying that once again their counting on Goku!

Meanwhile, Goku is flying in front, with the two androids side by side, and Piccolo and Tien next to each other behind them flying away from the city. Goku looks back to see the androids, speeds up and continues flying.

Back at the island, Yamcha explains how when 20 grabbed him, he could feel his energy leaving his body. Gohan exclaims that they need to warn them now, and flies off, with Krillin behind. Yamcha thinks about it for a minute, then flies off too. Bulma tells Yajirobe to go too, but he says he doesn't know how to fly, so he's stuck with her.

Meanwhile, everyone is still flying away from the city. 20 looks down, telling Goku that he is growing impatient, and wants to know where they are going. Goku doesn't say anything, so 20 decides to stop right over an island. They land, and Goku, Piccolo and Tien follow. They land, and Piccolo looks around, seeing the area, and it's high ground, saying they could choose to run. Goku wants to know how they knew their names. Tien looks at Goku, seeing him out of breath, and wonders why. 20 tells Goku about how he was studied on for many years until he went to Planet Namek, and calculated the amount of power he would get by the time the androids are made, and then they were created, fully capable of destroying Goku.

Krillin, Gohan and Yamcha are looking around for everyone, but can't seem to find them. All they can do is scream for them, but they are too far away.

Goku looks at 20, smiling, saying that they don't know everything about him, and Piccolo tells him they've never heard of Super Saiyan! Goku transforms, making 19 and 20 surprised. Gohan, Krillin and Yamcha sense Goku, and fly toward him. 19 tells 20 that his technique is not listed in his files, but 20 tells him not to worry, and he tells Goku that 19 will face him by himself. Goku tells him that they shouldn't, but powers up, and flies toward them. The first fight for the future, Goku vs. Android 19!
