These twin angels spoke a language only understood by Arale. Gatchan became ill and trapped itself into a cocoon and spent a lot of time inside. When the cocoon broke, there were two Gatchans. Gatchan is short for Gajira (japanese for Godzilla) containing the suffix 'chan' which means child.

After being sent into his own dead zone by Gohan in the first movie, Garlic Jr. somehow escapes from his deadzone and re-appears after the Frieza saga with a new group of henchman. However, once again he is defeated and sent back to his own dead zone by Gohan.

He returns when the original Shenron restores all life.

He is also one of the only two people to ever reach Super Saiya-jin level 3.
