A monster created by the Black magicians, Hildegarn was very powerful, but had a weakness in which a special tune would immobilize him and give someone enough time to kill him. This happens on Tapion's planet; he cuts the evil monster in half and half of it is sealed inside Tapion and the other half is sealed in his brother, Minosha. When the dragon balls are gathered on earth to open the box containing Tapion, Hildegarn escapes and his two halves join together again to wreak havoc on the earth. After defeating many of the warriors, Hildegarn is finally defeated by Goku's Ryu Ken (Dragon Fist).

One of the Black magicians responsible for the creation of Hiredugarn, Hoi traveled to earth in the thirteenth movie in search for the other half of his creation. His intentions were to make Hiredugarn whole again so he would wreak havoc throughout the universe. Hoi is eventually killed by his creation upon becoming whole.

Gohan makes friends with Icarus during the third Dragon Ball Z movie when Gohan and Kuririn put out the fire in the forest. He is very protective of Gohan and is the only being Gohan listens to while in his Oozaru form in the movie. Icarus makes appearances in the 3rd and 4th movies and Garlic Jr. Saga.
