The Imperfect Cell Saga

The saga starts where the Android Saga was at, Trunks looking at the picture of what appears to be his time machine given to him by Bulma. But Trunks says that his time machine is in it’s capsule in his pocket. They wonder what is going on, while Trunks says that he is going to look at the wrecked time machine. Gohan decides to come as well, with Chi-Chi worrying about him as usual, and Bulma also decides to come, but by plane, since she is still at Capsule Corp.

They arrive, and Gohan spots the beaten up time machine. Trunks looks at the machine. It appears to have been blown up from the inside, since there is a huge hole in the glass door of the machine. Bulma then arrives and Trunks opens up the time machine. Inside, he finds two light purple egg shells that have been in the time machine, and he believes that that egg may have made the hole in the time machine. Trunks examines the computer, and realizes that the time machine arrived four years ago, one year before he destroyed Frieza! Bulma is still confused at how this can’t be his time machine, but it is the same thing. Trunks then opens his time machine and shows her that both of them have writing on the side of it, that says “HOPE!!!”, something Bulma from the future wrote just before he left. Trunks put the capsule in his pocket, and Bulma and Trunks spoke for a while, when, Gohan noticed something.

Gohan walked toward it, and it appeared to be an exoskeleton from a huge bug! Trunks and Bulma see what it is, and Trunks explains that it must be around, since there is so much blood that isn’t dry. It isn’t around the area, so they all leave, and get ready to defeat the Androids, but Kami knows that an evil has surfaced, and tells Piccolo that they will merge when the evil surfaces.

Then, Bulma hears on her portable TV that a monster has been attacking people in Gingertown, and Bulma realizes that Gingertown is not far from where they found the shell. She calls Krillin, and tells him to turn it to the news. Trunks and Gohan haven’t arrived yet, so they don’t know what’s going on yet. They look to see that people’s clothes are scattered across the entire town.

Trunks and Gohan arrive, and watch as the announcer is attacked by the monster! Kami senses the new evil, and merges with Piccolo. Piccolo, now a Super Namek, flies off to destroy the monster. He arrives, only to find the town deserted. He examines the area, and people do appear to have been sucked right out of their clothes. Then he hears a twig snap, and he knows that the monster is around. He finds him, only to see that it is a colorful, insect-like creature, and he is dragging what looks like the last human in Gingertown! The man wkes up and pleads with Piccolo to help him, Whwhen Piccolo tells the monster to let him go, he does, but stings him with his tail! Piccolo watches as the man turns into nothing but clothes as the monster completely absorbs him into his form, and powers up.

Piccolo doesn’t believe what he has saw, and meanwhile, everyone at Master Roshi senses two Piccolos, Frieza, King Cold, Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, and Goku all in the same place! But Goku is still inside recovering from his heart problem. They realize something is wrong, and Trunks flies off to help Piccolo. Vegeta senses them as well, but doesn’t understand. Tien flies off to help Piccolo as well. Krillin flies off a little after Trunks to help. Meanwhile, Piccolo is fighting this new monster, when Piccolo sees something he couldn’t believe, the monster is powering up a Kamehameha!

Piccolo dodges it just in time, but the monster grabs hold of Piccolo and starts absorbing him through his arm. The military tries to help, but the monster kills them all. Piccolo then hits him and jumps away in time. But Piccolo’s arm is completely useless!!! And so Piccolo says that he gives up, and wants this monster to tell him of his origin, and his name. He says his name is Cell, a creation of Dr. Gero from the future. He says that he contains the cells of Nappa, Gohan, Goku, Tien, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Vegeta, Frieza, and King Cold. He says that an insect-like creature gathers the cells. The creature is above Cell as they spoke, and Piccolo destroyed it. But Cell tells him that he has wasted his efforts, since they already have all the cells and are creating a present version of him at the lab. But Piccolo tells him that they destroyed the lab and all of the equipment. Cell explains that he is in a bunker below the lab, which wasn’t destroyed. He says that the computer will work undisturbed for the next 24 years to build him. Cell explains that he killed the Future Trunks from his time, stole his time machine, and came to the present. But, he had to regress to his larval state because the ship was too small, so he developed for the next four years into the being he is now.

Cell also explains that this form isn’t his perfect form. He has to absorb the combined powers of Androids 17 and 18 to be perfect. Piccolo can’t believe this, and he finally tells Cell that he has been tricked! He rips off his bad arm, and grows a new one! Cell realizes that he has been tricked. Just as they are about to go at it, Krillin and Trunks arrive. Realizing that he is no match for all three just yet, Cell flies up, does a Solar Flare, and flies off. Piccolo is mad right now that he let Cell get away. He begins to power up. Vegeta senses that one of the powers has vanished, but the other is there. When he arrives, he can’t believe his eyes. It is Piccolo powering up! He says that his power is even greater than him at a Super Saiyan! Trunks explains to him that he has fused with Kami. Tien arrives, and Piccolo tells them everything. Everyone can’t believe it. Vegeta then realizes that he has to get stronger. He says that there is a level beyond a Super Saiyan, and he will get to that level. He flies off, training once again. Krillin and Trunks go to the lab to destroy the present Cell, still forming inside a chamber. Piccolo and Tien look for Cell.

Cell has absorbed a bus full of football players, including the driver. Piccolo and Tien arrive one step behind him, finding nothing but clothes and the bus. Cell begins to absorb more people, with Piccolo and Tien one step behind. Meanwhile, at the lab, Krillin and Trunks find the area where Cell is growing. Trunks discovers something very interesting. The plans for Android 17! Trunks says that they can find a way to defeat the Androids with this machine. They destroy the computer and Cell, and they run off. Trunks flies off to train with his dad, and Krillin takes the plans to Bulma.

Meanwhile, Piccolo and Tien continue to look for Cell. Krillin finally gives the plans to Bulma, and she finds out that there is a weak point to the androids!! She plans to work on them while Krillin flies back to Master Roshi’s. Trunks wonders about how the present could have been so screwed up, since he only expected Androids 17 and 18, when really, Androids 19 and 20 came first, then Androids 17 and 18 arrived, except there was another, Android 16. And now there is Cell, and he doesn’t know what to think. He begins to think that his presence had a negative effect of this timeline. But he doesn’t believe it.

Meanwhile, Androids 16, 17 and 18 are looking for Goku. They arrive at his house only to find nothing. Android 16 tells them where he was last heard from. At Master Roshi’s. So they all go to look for him. Meanwhile, Cell terrorizes an airport, until Krillin arrives to save the last two people in the town!! The two people fly off, and Krillin does a Solar Flare, blinding Cell, and he goes off with the plane. But Cell has arrived on the plane, and defeats Krillin. Just before he is about to destroy him, he realizes that Piccolo and Tien are on his tail. Cell leaves, and Krillin is saved. Tien, Piccolo and Krillin fly off to Master Roshi’s house. But when they see more destruction, Gohan and Yamcha join with them and they fly off to defeat Cell in a plane.

Meanwhile, only Chi-Chi and Master Roshi remain at the house. Chi-Chi feels an earthquake, and drops the bowl of water she had for Goku all over Master Roshi. She checks on Goku, but he is gone. She looks out the window, and she finds an incredible formation of the water caused by Goku, and she sees him standing at the edge of the island, alive and well! They don’t speak for too long. He tells them that he is going to rise to claim this new level of Super Saiyan. He then goes to see Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, Tien and Yamcha, who are all very happy to see him. He tells everyone of a plan that he has. He wants himself, Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Piccolo knows about it, since it is in the lookout. Goku explains that if you train in it for a year, it will have been only one day on Earth. He explains that he wants to take Gohan, Trunks and Vegeta with him. He leaves with Gohan, and transport to Trunks and Vegeta.

Goku tells Vegeta of the plan, and after a long talk, Vegeta agrees, and him and Trunks train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber together. Meanwhile, everyone’s back at Master Roshi’s place, and everyone’s asleep except for Piccolo, who watches as Cell continues to kill innocent people. He hears some people landing on the island. When he looks out the window, he sees Androids 16, 17 and 18! Piccolo is upset that he has to deal with them now, but is happy to try and defeat them so Cell can’t absorb them. So Piccolo challenges them, and they fly off to a deserted island, and they fight, with Piccolo showing his tremendous strength. They seem to be evenly matched. But there is one problem. Cell can sense the androids!

He senses them, and flies off to get them. Both Piccolo and 17 are very weak when Cell arrives, and Piccolo is very scared. But they don’t know who Cell is! He is shocked to hear this. Cell tries to absorb 17 since he doesn’t know, but Cell is already attacking, and Piccolo kicks Cell just in time. Piccolo, Cell, and 17 fight, with Piccolo and 17 fighting together. Krillin goes and gets the remote from Bulma, while Tien goes to watch the fight. Cell and 17 fight now, and Cell almost has 17, but Piccolo interferes again, but Cell is much stronger now, but he wants nothing to do with Piccolo. Piccolo tries to warn 17, but is knocked out. Cell blows a hole through his stomach, and throws him in the water, leaving 17 to defend himself. But just when Cell is about to absorb 17, 16 starts to fight Cell, appearing to have an advantage. But when Cell hides underground, he catches 17 just in time and absorbs him, turning into a different form, one step away from perfection!

16 tries to leave with 18, but Cell is too fast. He blasts 16 in the head, leaving an awful head wound, and 18 having to defend herself. Tien then steps in, and uses his Kikouhou, or Tri-Beam. As some of you know, it drains the person’s energy when they use the Tri-Beam. He holds Cell off, and yells for 18 and 16 to leave!
