The episode starts with Raditz coming up to Goku and Piccolo, telling them that they won't win this fight. Piccolo asks Goku if he has any ideas, which Goku doesn't. Piccolo then tells Goku that he has one. He says that he has a special attack that he can use against Raditz, but Goku has to distract him for five minutes. Goku agrees, and charges Raditz, while Piccolo prepares his attack. Goku fights with Raditz, losing badly, then he tries something different... the awesome Kamehameha!

Raditz realizes that Goku's power is skyrocketing, and so is Piccolo's! Goku then fires his Kamehameha, making Raditz run away. Goku makes it follow Raditz, until Raditz screams that he has had enough, and blocks the Kamehameha! Goku can't believe it. Then Raditz fires right back at Goku, making Goku get hit badly and hit the ground. But just as Raditz is about to finish Goku off, he senses something, Piccolo is finished with his special attack!

Raditz can't believe the power that is coming from Piccolo. Then, Piccolo yells "Special Beam Cannon fire!", and it hits Raditz, making bright light fill the area. But wait, Raditz is alive! Raditz shows Piccolo that he missed him, but hit his shoulder. Raditz then powers up an attack, and then tries to fire it at Piccolo, to finish him off. But wait, it didn't work. Goku is squeezing his tail!

As we all know from Dragonball, whenever someone grabbed Goku's tail, it hurt him, and drained him of power, so he did this to Raditz. Raditz cries out in pain as Goku continues to grab his tail. Goku tells Piccolo to power up his attack again! Piccolo starts, but Raditz then pleads to Goku to let him go, and he won't come back to Earth again. Piccolo yells at Goku to not listen to him, because he will do anything to be set free. Goku lets him go anyway, being the soft guy he is, making Raditz hit Goku and step on his stomach.Raditz continues to step on Goku, and the scene moving to Gohan, sitting funny, calling his dad. Raditz asks Piccolo why he isn't coming to help, leaving Piccolo speechless.

Meanwhile, Chi-Chi is preparing food. She mixes the food, then leaves, and starts to look at a paper while laughing. She is looking at a paper that Gohan did for math, with a 100% at the top. She starts to think of what Gohan should get into when he grows up.

Meanwhile, Raditz continues to step on Goku's stomach, making him scream more and more. But just as Raditz is about to deliver the final blow, he senses something, and looks around. Then, he hears cracking, coming from the crature! He looks there, only to find Gohan breaking the space pod to pieces! Piccolo can't believe it, and neither could Raditz, as an enraged Gohan jumps out of the crature, and lands in front of Raditz! Goku tells Gohan to run away, but Gohan is too blinded by anger to listen, and powers up! He then jumps to Raditz, and slams into his stomach, creating a huge crack in his armor, and actually hurting Raditz. Raditz regains his footing, and Gohan rubs his head, and sits in front of his dad, as though not remembering a thing. Raditz goes up to Gohan, asking him what happened to all of his power. Gohan doesn't understand, so Raditz kicks Gohan, making him dizzy from rolling across a field, and is knocked out. Raditz walks up to Gohan, while Goku pleads with him to stop. Just when Raditz is about to deliver the final blow, Goku grabs Raditz, locking him, yelling at Piccolo to do his attack again!

Piccolo starts his attack, while Raditz tells Goku that he will be killed in the blast as well. But Goku doesn't care! Goku yells at Piccolo to finish, while Piccolo tells Goku that he is happy that he will die as well, and will take a short time to get ready!

Finally, Piccolo's attack is ready, and once again, he fires, and succeeds, with the blast going through both Raditz and Goku's bodies! They crash to the ground, while Piccolo walks over to Raditz, while Raditz is upset, with Piccolo telling him that Goku will be back soon. Raditz doesn't understand, until Piccolo tells him that they will wish him back using the Dragonballs. He explains what they are, telling Raditz that Goku will have the last laugh. Raditz tells him he is wrong. He says that two Saiyans stronger than him have heard every word that Piccolo said, telling him that they will come. Goku asks when, with Raditz telling him sometime within one year. When Raditz laughs at Piccolo, he kills him for good.

Meanwhile, Bulma, Master Roshi and Krillin fly overhead, seeing that only Piccolo is standing. They run after Goku, who is dying. Goku tells them to take care of Gohan, and to wish him back with the Dragonballs. He then disappears, leaving everyone stunned. Piccolo then knows who did it, he says that it was Kami!

Meanwhile, at the Earth's check-in station, Kami tells King Yama about why Goku should go to seek training from King Kai. He tells him about the Saiyans, and that he has to get stronger. King Yama asks if Goku is ready to go on Snake Way, Kami says yes. Goku then asks if everyone comes here, making Kami say yes. Goku asks King Yama if he has seen someone named Raditz, he says yes, and that he overpowered Raditz and sent him to hell. Goku can't believe it, saying that he wants training from King Yama and not King Kai, but Kami whispers to Goku that King Kai is stronger than King Yama. He hears that, yelling at Kami, saying he is sorry. King Yama tells Goku to go and wait outside for someone to come. King Yama tells Goku that if he falls off of Snake Way, he can't get back on, so be careful. Goku tells Kami that he will do his best to get to King Kai's. Kami gives him the ok, and he leaves. Kami tells himself that he is counting on Goku, when King Yama yells at Kami to leave now! Kami says yes.
