The episode starts with Gohan, Goku and Piccolo all flying to the island nine miles southwest of South City to see the Androids. Gohan is up ahead flying, while Goku and Piccolo are side by side a little farther behind. Piccolo and Goku talk about how they've prepared for three years for this moment, with Piccolo saying that if only he could've trained more. Goku says that his training should be enough, and that he did as much as he could. They all meet Krillin, and ask him if he is ready, Krillin still isn't sure about the whole thing, when they see the island.

Hovering over the island, Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Piccolo all see that this island is very high in population, which means that they would have to divert the androids away from the city. They go for a landing a little farther away from the city, on a cliff. There they see Yamcha, Tien and Bulma at that same place, only Bulma is holding a baby. This surprises Krillin and Gohan, who don't realize who the baby is. Krillin and Gohan ask her who the baby is, and ask Yamcha if he is his son, But Yamcha says that he isn't and they'll be shocked when they find out who the father really is. When Goku all of a sudden says that it must be Vegeta's son and his name is Trunks! Bulma is surprised to hear that Goku knows about him, since he hasn't seen him or heard about him yet, then Goku tries to make an excuse by saying that he must be a psychic. He then asks her what time it is, and Bulma tells him that it is 9:30! Goku tells Bulma she should leave right away, but Bulma says she isn't going anywhere. She asks where Vegeta is, and Goku says that he'll show, and that he'll never miss a fight. Tien tells Goku that he left Chiaotzu at Master Roshi's because he wouldn't be of any use to them. Goku understands, when meanwhile, Piccolo stands at the edge of the cliff, with Tien soon joining him. Goku, Gohan and Krillin are admiring the baby, when Tien says that there's only a half hour left until the androids come!

Meanwhile, Dr. Brief goes into Trunks' room only to find nobody in there, saying that he wanted to give him his toy, and he says that he will try his new toy out. He presses the button, and the bird that comes out inflates to easily twice the size of Dr. Brief, making him scream, then a clock on the counter says 10:15, but still no androids.

Everyone is still standing on the cliff, waiting for the androids. Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Yamcha are all gathered around Trunks and Bulma, while Tien and Piccolo continue to watch the city. Gohan is making faces at Trunks, making him laugh, while Krillin tries to talk to him, making Trunks laugh too, everyone laughs at Krillin, when Piccolo tells them to stay quiet, because someone's coming! They look to see that it's Yajirobe. He hops out of his aircar, with Goku happy to see him, saying that he's going to help them fight the androids. Yajirobe looks at him with a mad look, saying that he isn't going to help them, he's just bringing Senzu Beans. Goku thanks him, and Yajirobe leaves. Tien is surprised that it's already after 10:00 and the androids aren't there yet. Yamcha says that this kid was wrong and the androids aren't coming, when they hear an explosion! It's Yajirobe's aircar, and it just hit the water! Piccolo then sees the androids up in the air, but are going into the city! They then realize that they're androids, and they just might not be able to sense them. So they go to look for them the hard way. Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Piccolo take the air to search, and Gohan goes to get Yajirobe, while Bulma stays at the cliff and holds the Senzu beans.

Goku and Krillin fly over the city, and Goku lands on top of a building, searching for the androids, while Krillin keeps flying. Then two strange sets of feet land on the ground in the city, and start to walk around.

A guy in the city is flying his air skateboard, when Krillin lands right in front of him, making him fall. The guy is stunned to see that Krillin can fly, and when Krillin asks him if he has seen any weird people around, he says that Krillin is one of them, making Krillin stumped. The two pairs of feet continue to walk the city, as though they are normal people.

Piccolo is standing in the middle of a sidewalk, looking for the two androids, but all he is getting is people staring at him oddly since he is green. Tien is standing at a balcony trying to find them, but is also having no luck.

Gohan is out in the water, pulling Yajirobe out, asking him if he's alright, with Yajirobe exclaiming if he looks ok to him!

Yamcha is also looking for the androids, saying to himself that he doesn't even know what he's looking for. The two androids continue to walk, when they see two people talking about the explosion of Yajirobe's car. They both have their back to the androids, when one of them turns around, asking if they saw the explosion too. Then we see the androids for the first time. One is short, very white, and fat with a hat shaped like a cone. The other is tall, very old looking, and has a mustache that is white, with long white hair coming out of his magician-like hat. The short android walks up to the first man that turned around, and head-butts him! He them punches the second man, hitting him into a building, and killing him. The second android is standing in front of a car that's trying to move, the man in the car honks the horn. The android, who was watching the fight, turns his head to see the driver, and slowly walks up to his car. He then raises his right hand, and pushes it right into the car! The man, scared to death, tries to start his car, but it's too late, the android has ripped the motor right out of the car! He then walks up to the driver window, grabs the man by the neck, and pushes his head right through the roof of the car. The man cries out in pain, and a young girl screams, which is heard by Yamcha!

Yamcha runs toward the scene, and the two androids sense a human with extraordinary powers coming their way. They seem to be referring to each other as "19" and "20" with the short fat one being 19, and the tall old one being 20. 19 tells 20 that they will destroy this human.

Yamcha arrives at the scene, seeing the three dead people, but no androids. He asks someone who works at a gas station, who runs away. He asks two business people who say that there were two of them. Yamcha says that he just missed them!

The two androids are hovering over, looking at Yamcha, and 19 gets his records, and he apparently has everything about Yamcha! They say that it isn't the human they seek, but will destroy him. They land right behind Yamcha, with Yamcha telling them to watch out for a couple androids, but he sees something that tells him they're the androids, the "Red Ribbon" logo on their hats! Yamcha jumps away, screaming that he found them! But before he can scream again, 20 grabs his mouth! Yamcha tries to pull it away, but 20 doesn't seem to want to let go! He lifts him off of the ground right in the middle of the road, making a gas truck plow into a gas station and set off a huge explosion, which all of the Z-Fighters can see.

At the end of the fire, 20 is still grabbing Yamcha's mouth. Yamcha looks at 19, then back at 20, when all of sudden, 20 sticks his hand through Yamcha's stomach!

Bulma sees the explosion from the cliff, and can't believe it. Gohan and Yajirobe can also see it, as they fly back to the island. People on the island struggle to keep cover as the fire rages in the middle of the city!
